The basic theory that prevailed in the GameStop community following the squeeze of January 2021 is that naked short selling was used and is possibly still being used to suppress the price of the shares of this company. Brandon Kochkodin questions whether this is true, and whether the entire notion of naked short selling being used to manipulate markets on a wide scale is really occurring. I had some serious questions regarding GME, naked shorts, Wes Christian, and much more. Brandon had some interesting answers.

In this podcast with author Richard Hanania we talked about his brand new book, The Origins of Woke: Civil Rights Law, Corporate America, and the Triumph of Identity Politics. In a nation nearly evenly split between conservatives and liberals, the left dominates nearly all major institutions, including universities, the government, and corporate America. Hanania argues that this is as much a legal requirement as it is an issue of one side triumphing in the marketplace of ideas. Culture has its own independent force, but the state has, since the 1960s, been putting its thumb on the scale. In the conversation, we dive into the roots of the concept of "wokeness" and its deep-seated origins in American society, dating back to government mandates and regulations from the late 1960s and early 1970s. 
This discussion challenges the common perception that wokeness is a recent phenomenon, shedding light on its historical underpinnings and how it has influenced institutions and corporations. Richard also explores the evolving role of social media in shaping acceptable narratives and content censorship, examining how these platforms, once champions of free expression, have grappled with increased pressures and changing content policies.

#334 - Dr Rakib Ehsan: What The Left Gets Wrong About Ethnic Minorities

Dr. Rakib Ehsan's book "Beyond Grievance: What the Left Gets Wrong About Ethnic Minorities" highlights the growing tensions between the liberal cosmopolitanism of the British political Left and the patriotic faith-based conservatism that runs deep in many of Britain's ethnic-minority communities. Ehsan argues that Britain needs a robust civic patriotism that understands that a stable family unit is the finest form of social security known to humankind, and a cultural arrangement that appreciates that faith is a vital source of strength and optimism across a diversity of communities. 
The book highlights how the Left is complacent in assuming they can depend upon a traditional support base among ethnic minorities. With American-style racial identity politics taking root in the UK, the book also argues that many liberal-leftists are disregarding the attachments to the traditional triad of faith, family and flag in historically Labour-voting, ethnic-minority communities. Dr. Ehsan discussed the ideas underpinning his book, including his personal experience growing up in Luton and the Left's lack of representation for traditionalist views of ethnic minority families.
